The Minden-Tahoe Airport is very pleased to have been selected to host the USAF Thunderbirds at our 2015 Aviation Roundup. The last time they were able to perform in Northern Nevada was 2008. Each year our air show pays tribute to Veterans and having the Thunderbirds allows us to really elevate that hospitality. Various specialty items for the military will include:

Bobbi Thompson’s aviation career has spanned more than 40-years including being a 4500-hour pilot (single and multi-engine and helicopters), Aviation FAI World Record Holder, 35-years producing air shows, airport manager, FBO owner and manager, air racing, and aviation consulting. She is the COO of ABS Aviation, an international FBO holding and airport management company and executive vice president of Airport Business Solutions; she is also the president of the Nevada Airports Association. ABS Aviation is currently contracted by Douglas County to manage Minden-Tahoe Airport where Bobbi has served as the Airport Manager for the past five years.
 
For the past eighteen years Bobbi has taught a class on airport management for American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) during the Annual National Airport Conference. Bobbi has made presentations to airports, produced air shows and completed airport projects in twelve other countries. Her career has included: FAA Contract assignments, aviation consulting for more than 1400 airports/FBOs, multiple speaking engagements promoting aviation and careers in aviation, more than 100 various airport policy documents and she is currently working with the Nevada’s Governor’s office in developing drone manufacturing opportunities for the State of Nevada. Bobbi is also a Board member for NDOT’s Statewide Transportation Technical Advisory Committee (STTAC). Bobbi spent several years as the Aviation Director for Los Angeles County.
 
Bobbi serves on the Board of Directors for the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce and is serving as the Board President Elect in addition to being a member of the Chamber Economic Development Committee. She is also on the Carson Valley Visitors Authority Board and serving as their Chairman. Bobbi is a Board member and Treasurer of the Business Council of Douglas County and the Western Nevada College Advisory Council and she is a published author. She continues to serve on multiple AAAE committees and she is a former member of NATAs Board of Directors.
