Camila Sirachi Rubino My name is Camila Sirachi Rubino, and I am a Rotary Youth Exchange student from Brazil. I am 18 years old, and am enrolled at Galena High School in Reno. My classes are English, English Support, Computers, U.S. History, Power Walking and Art. My home in Brazil is a town named Araraquara which is about four hours inland from Sao Paulo, Brazil. My family is my father, Valdir, my mother, Ines, and my sister Graziele. My father and mother work together managing a meat parlor (butcher shop) and a gas station. My sister is 22 years old and is in her third year of college studying biomedicine. My favorite things to do in Brazil are to go to the beach, and to spend time with my friends. The beach is a very popular thing for people in Brazil because we have beautiful, warm weather most of the time. I am enjoying being in the United States. This year for me is a great experience and each day brings something new. I will not forget seeing snow for the first time! For fun, I do “climbing” in the adventure club from school and I will learn to snowboard in January. I also participate in the Chamber’s Youth Leadership Reno-Sparks once a month. Thank you very much for sponsoring me, and for your friendliness to me. I have enjoyed many different activities with Rotarians including the hot air balloon festival, sailing in San Francisco, the salmon festival in South Lake Tahoe, jet skiing, hiking, sight seeing around Lake Tahoe, and am looking forward to visiting Maui over the Christmas holiday. I appreciate your invitations to join your family for an evening, the day, or a weekend. Thank you again.
