Anecdotes from 25 years of broadcasting in Reno

Longtime Reno broadcaster John Potter has spent most of his life in Nevada.  He attended UNR, received his degree in Indiana, then started his on-air career in Reno in 1978. With 10 years on TV and radio in Las Vegas, and over 25 in Reno, John spent the last 20 at KTVN Channel 2 until ending in June.

John grew up in a Rotary family.  His father, Jack, was a legend in Rotary District 7120 and started his term as New York Rotary Governor in 1976.  John was a frequest guest at his dad's Rotary meetings, reading a 5-minute newscast to members during lunch.  John became a Rotarian himself in 1985.

John will speak to us about the interesting stories he has covered through the years, with insight into our local news.
