August 20, 2014 Program: Pete Rathmann/BJ's Nevada Barbeque Company

Pete Rathmann has been in the area since 1989, the first year of the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off and has owned BJ’s Nevada Barbeque Company since 1990.  BJ’s has been at the rib cook-off every year and has won every award except for the People’s Choice (could this be the year?).

 

Located in Sparks, BJ's has been a favorite of locals and visitors for more than 25 years. Established in 1986, they are proud to be family owned and operated, and they love our great Truckee Meadows community.

 

Pete has been involved in Kid' Free Fishing Day from the beginning, helping to cook to over 1,500 hot dogs at each year's event.
