Howard W. Herz is a gaming historian and the coordinator of the American Gaming Archives, located at the Nevada Historical Society in Reno. The American Gaming Archives was founded in 2006 to gather, preserve, protect and present the artifacts and manuscripts of American gaming history.  Today the archives have more than 50,000 pieces of manuscript and artifact items.
 
The AGA archives are focused on American style gambling as it has existed in the United States and the Caribbean.  The AGA recently held its public grand opening with an exhibit of a small portion of its holdings.  The exhibit is open for viewing Tuesday-Saturday at 1650 No. Virginia Street in Reno.  The Nevada Historical Society is Nevada's oldest cultural institution and is happy to celebrate Nevada's 150th Anniversary.
