Director of Intercollegiate Athletics for UNR

Doug Knuth became UNR's eighth Director of Athletics in April of 2013.  As a Special Assistant to the President and Director of Athletics, he brings more than 25 years of professional experience and achievement in athletics administration.

Doug has hired 15 head coaches during his eight seasons as Nevada Athletic Director.  In Men's basketball he tabbed Eric Musselman and Steve Alford.  In baseball, Jay Johnson and T.J. Bruce.    And in football, Jay Norvell and now Ken Wilson. Those coaches have logged 19 seasons as Wolf Pack head coaches, winning seven of Nevada's eight Mountain West championships and recording winning seasons 16 times.

Under Knuth's leadership, the student-athletes are making progress toward and achieving their degrees at record levels.  Engagement with our community through Wolf Pack athletics has never been higher.  And, on the playing field, our teams continue to perform at an exceptionally high level in the Mountain West Conference.
